Arsenal had to come from 0-2 to draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Sunday.
We gifted Christian Eriksen the opening goal in 10 minutes after Bernd Leno spilled Erik Lamela’s tame effort into the Dane’s path. Sokratis and David Luiz both made position errors and decisions in the build up.
Harry Kane doubled Spurs’ lead from the spot five minutes before half-time after Granit Xhaka recklessly and needlessly conceded the penalty. The club captain was awful on the day and was fortunate only to receive one yellow card for his seven fouls.
Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back in first half stoppage time with an excellent strike. The Frenchman run his socks off for us in attack but limped off just after the hour. It had been the first time the trio of Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe had all started for us.
It was Emerick who equalised for us 20 minutes from time following an excellent through ball from Matteo Guendouzi. The young midfielder had an excellent game for us as part of a central midfield three, whilst Emerick scored with what was about his only attempt of the game having played the first hour wide left.
